Want to bring joy and improve lives in your community, all while spending time with your pet? If the answer is yes, then we’re here to get you started and support you along the way!
The Chris Center’s PAWS dog therapy team serves teens in a high school setting – during study time, supporting discussion groups, during high-stress times in their schedules, for example during finals week, or in the rare situation, there is a crisis. We need a dedicated team of handler/dog partners to meet the need.
In 2022, we will focus on the needs of various student groups at University High School in Carmel. Our programs will include both regular visits with specific student groups, as well as serving as a therapy team during finals week. We need teams who can commit to at least two 1-hour visits/month during the school day.
If you are already a certified therapy dog team handler, with a currently certified therapy dog, the process is easy! If you are interested in becoming a certified team, we can help you reach that goal. Read on to learn more!
